Background

Chelsea earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminology, complemented by a minor in Psychology. Throughout her college years, she supported herself by waiting tables. Following her graduation, she dedicated her time to volunteering with Juvenile Probation. Her commitment to public service expanded as she took on the role of a corrections officer and spent several years in pretrial, probation, and parole services. In 2020, she felt compelled to enter the political arena, driven by her concern for the declining state of the public school system, which she believed was vital for the community and its children. As a political outsider, she unseated an incumbent with two-thirds of the vote. In 2023, she and her family experienced a devastating car accident, but fortunately, no lives were lost. Despite suffering a severe leg injury that required four surgeries and the prognosis of difficulty in walking ever again, she persevered. Over the course of a challenging year, she was unable to drive or fulfill her job responsibilities, leading her to leave a career she had built over a decade. Nevertheless, she remained resilient and was appointed as Chief-of-Staff for a Prince William County Supervisor, where she is now pushing herself to not only walk but also to run.
